Cover Feature: Improving the Quantum Yields of Perylene Diimide Aggregates by Increasing Molecular Hydrophobicity in Polar Media (ChemPhysChem 18/2017)

Abstract
The Inside Back Cover picture describes the differences in solubility of two perylene diimide species in two solvents. The first solvent is pure methanol while the second is a methanol:water binary solution. When water is added to methanol, the molecules become less soluble, and their emission properties change. More information can be found in the Full Paper by J. Plenge, J. M. Szarko, and co-workers on page 2430 in Issue 18, 2017 (DOI: 10.1002/cphc.201700448).
