Manual Elections Now Difficult to Secure

Abstract
It is common knowledge that manual elections tend to favor employers, as they generally result in higher voter turnout. Prior to the pandemic, mail ballot elections were generally relegated to remote or traveling workforces. The mail ballot option took on added significance as the National Labor Relations Board instituted precautions to protect their staff against the virus. Employers' efforts to secure manual ballot elections during the pandemic have met with very limited success and have frequently resulted in litigation before the NLRB of its regional directors' decisions to direct mail ballot elections.
