Global, Regional, and National Burden and Quality of Care Index (QCI) of Motor Neuron Disease: A Systematic Analysis of the Global Burden of Disease Study 1990 to 2021
Med Research2025Vol. 1(3), pp. 455–459
Abstract
ABSTRACT In 2021, there were 64,178 new cases of motor neuron disease (MND) worldwide, resulting in 39,082 deaths. However, from 1990 to 2021, the global care quality for MND did not show significant improvement, with disparities observed across ages, genders, and socio‐demographic index (SDI) regions. Regions with lower SDI exhibited particularly limited quality of care index (QCI) improvement, underscoring the urgent need for standardized care guideline implementation in these regions.
