Abstract
Abstract The synthesis and cationic photopolymerization of different cationically polymerizable monomers containing electroactive groups are reviewed with 98 references. The preparation of various compounds containing electron‐donor or electron‐acceptor moieties and photopolymerizable functional groups is described. After a short discussion of basic principles of cationic polymerization, photoinduced cationic polymerizations of various cationically polymerizable monomers containing both electron‐donor or electron‐acceptor chromophores and the functional groups such as epoxy, vinyl, thiiranyl, oxetanyl and others are reviewed.
