25‐2: Smart GOA Technology‐A Technique for Aging Compensation of GOA Circuit
Abstract
In LCD panels, a large margin is typically reserved for the driving voltage (VGH) of the TFT to ensure that the GOA circuit can switch normally after aging. However, an excessively high driving voltage further accelerates the aging of the GOA circuit. To address this issue, we have developed a new technology called Smart GOA, which can dynamically adjust the driving voltage of the TFT based on the aging degree of the GOA circuit. This technology keeps VGH at an optimal setting at all times. The circuit architecture of Smart GOA mainly includes a detection circuit and a compensation circuit. The detection circuit can accurately measure the rise time (Tr) of the output signal of the GOA circuit, which effectively represents the aging and drift of the circuit. The compensation algorithm evaluates the aging of the GOA circuit and changes in ambient temperature based on the Tr value, and then adjusts the VGH accordingly. It has been verified that the Smart GOA function has significant effects and advantages in delaying product aging and compensating for changes in ambient temperature. In addition, Smart GOA technology also has promising application prospects in reducing power consumption and addressing the issue of insufficient charging ratios in high‐refresh‐rate products at low temperatures.
