P‐18.3: Multi‐frequency‐region Parallel Touch Sensing Architecture
SID Symposium Digest of Technical Papers2025Vol. 56(S1), pp. 1819–1821
Abstract
Touch sensing technology has advanced significantly, with Synaptics' multi‐frequency‐region parallel sensing (MFRPS) architecture leading the charge in capacitive touch sensing innovations. This paper delves into MFRPS technology, which optimizes performance for larger panels. It also introduces single‐burst doze mode sensing for power efficiency by taking advantage of multi‐frequency sensing. Key innovations such as pseudo‐sine wave drive, digital analog front‐end (dAFE), and noise immunity improvements are also detailed. These innovations result in highly efficient, cost‐effective, and high‐performing touch sensing solutions.
