Abstract
This communication describes the first observation of J-aggregate formation of a porphyrin by a polymer template. The chirality of the polymer is superimposed on the J-aggregate. Regular micrometer long rod-shaped structures of the polymer-templated J-aggregate has been observed by AFM. The material is potentially useful for photonic and electronic molecular devices since the J-aggregate absorbs intensely at 490 nm.
