Syntheses of Titanium and Zirconium Chlorotrialkyl Complexes and Crystal Structure of Chlorotrineopentylzirconium Containing Unusual Linear Symmetric Metal−Chloride Polymeric Chains
Inorganic Chemistry1998Vol. 37(6), pp. 1423–1426
Abstract
Chlorotrineopentylzirconium (Me3CCH2)3ZrCl was found to crystallize in polymeric chains with unusual linear and symmetric chloride bridges and the repeat unit −Cl−Zr(CH2CMe3)3−Cl−Zr(CH2CMe3)3−. The syntheses of new trialkyl chloride complexes (Me3SiCH2)3MCl (M = Ti, Zr) and improved methods of preparing (Me3CCH2)3MCl (M = Ti, Zr) and tetraalkyl complexes (Me3ECH2)4Ti (E = C, Si) are reported.
