Abstract
High-resolution, natural-abundance ^(13)C nuclear magnetic resonance spectra have been obtained for the tetramethyl derivatives of group IV and the dimethyl derivatives of group IIb. The one-bond coupling constants between carbon and the spin 1/2 metal atoms as well as the "through-metal" vicinal carbon-proton coupling constants are discussed in terms of the Fermi contact coupling mechanism.
