Abstract
Three new insecticidal sesquiterpene polyol esters were isolated from the root bark of Celastrus angulatus. Their structures were determined, mainly by nmr and ms, as 1-beta,2-beta,6-alpha-triaacetoxy-12-isobutanoyloxy-8-beta,9-alpha-di(beta-fu rancarbonyloxy)-4-alpha-hydroxy-beta-dihydroagarofuran [1] (celangulin II), 1-beta,2-beta,6-alpha,8-beta-tetraacetoxy-9-alpha-benzoyloxy-12-isobutanoyl-oxy-4-alpha-hydroxy-beta-dihydroagarofuran [2] (celangulin III), and 1-beta,2-beta,6-alpha,8-beta-tetraacetoxy-9-beta-benzoyloxy-12-isobutanoyloxy-4-alpha-hydroxy-beta-dihydroagarofuran [3] (celangulin IV).
