Abstract
High-valent cationic oxorhenium(V) salen complexes efficiently catalyze the reduction of carbonyl compounds by organosilanes under mild, open-flask conditions. Good to excellent yields of silyl-protected alcohols are obtained in one step, and a variety of functional groups are compatible.
