Dictyostelium : Cell Culture and Molecular Tools
Encyclopedia of Life Sciences2003
Abstract
Abstract Dictyostelium provides an easy‐to‐grow model system for the study of the cellular functions of a unicellular eukaryote. A variety of conditions initiate a differentiation process resulting in a multicellular structure of low complexity. A plethora of molecular tools allow for easy genetic manipulation.
