Vacancy-induced asymmetric coordination of single-atom bismuth for selective photoelectrochemical oxidation of glycerol to dihydroxyacetone

Abstract
A WO 3 photoanode with Bi single atoms and O-vacancy-induced N–Bi–O asymmetric coordination is constructed. It shows 1.21 mA cm −2 at 1.2 V vs. RHE, 118.2 mmol m −2 h −1 glycerol conversion, and 71.3% DHA selectivity.
