Abstract
An iterative method based on the wave concept and multiscale grid is presented to analyse complex planar circuits with reduced calculation time. This approach consists in substituting selected pixels on the edges of metallic strips by their equivalent surface impedances. An implementation of the presented theory is shown for extraction of S-parameters of open-end microstrip lines and single-loop inductors. Comparisons with experimental published results are reported.
