Chemistry of the Podocarpaceae. XXXVIII. Reduced ring-c transformations of 12-Methoxypodocarpa-8,11,13-trien- 19-ol
Australian Journal of Chemistry1972Vol. 25(5), pp. 973–983
Abstract
Birch-type reductions of 12-methoxypodocarpa-8,11,13-trien-19-01 (2) have been investigated and the products have been converted into the 13-oxo derivatives (7) and (30) which have potential use as chiral intermediates for synthesis. The C14 ketone (9) which is also of potential value, has been prepared from the reduced derivative, methyl 12-oxopodocarp-13-en-19-oate (21).
