Abstract
The lycosid spider genus Allotrochosina Roewer is reinstated with two valid species: A. schauinslandi (Simon) (New Zealand), which is redescribed, and A. karri , sp. nov. (Western Australia). Notes on the subfamilial placement, biology, distribution and biogeography of Allotrochosina are given.
