Abstract
This chapter examines agriculture and extension in Afghanistan before the conflict (pre-1978) and during the conflict (1978-2002) as well as the the post-conflict extension system (2002-2014). The challenges and lessons learned in rebuilding agricultural extension in Afghanistan are discussed, and recommendations for improving the country's extension services are highlighted.
