1976-1977 photometry of UX Ari, HR 1099, and Lambda And

Abstract
Differential observations in V of the UBV system obtained at five different observatories in late 1976 and early 1977 are presented: 84 of UX Ari with 62 Ari as comparison star; 110 of HR 1099 with 10 Tau; and 186 of Lambda And with Psi And. Some coincided with far-ultraviolet observations made by the satellite Copernicus. The light curve of UX Ari showed a wave. The amplitude in V was 0.08 mag, and the phase of minimum was 0.8 in late 1976 but 0.7 in early 1977. The wave appears to be migrating retrograde and may be accelerating. The light curve of HR 1099 showed a wave very similar to the one seen in 1975-1976. The amplitude in V was unchanged from earlier years, and the phase of minimum had migrated retrograde by 0.074 since 1976.0, suggesting an average migration period of 13 + or - 1 yr. The light curve of Lambda And showed three maxima and two minima. Epochs of these extrema suggested a photometric period of 54.2 + or - 0.5 days. Unfortunately, the intrinsic variation of the period prevents proper phasing with earlier photometry and spectroscopy.
