Spectroscopy of (candidate) blue compact dwarf galaxies in the Virgo cluster field
Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific1988Vol. 100, pp. 785–785
Abstract
Spectroscopic observations of five candidates for blue compact dwarf galaxies in the Virgo cluster are presented. All five objects display emission-line spectra, which are used to measure radial velocities and line-intensity ratios. In combination with other data published in the literature, the membership to the Virgo cluster of galaxies and the nature of the observed objects is discussed. It is concluded that VCC 24 and VCC 2033 are blue compact dwarf galaxies in the Virgo cluster.
