T. ; Sellgren, K. ; Becklin, E. E. ; Hall, D. N. B. Abstract The results of a project to map extensively the stellar kinematics on the central 10 pc of the Galaxy are presented. The spatial dependence of the integrated stellar velocity and velocity dispersion are determined. The stars in the region move with a combination of ordered rotation and chaotic motion. The random component of the motion generally dominates the systemic component, particular at small radii. The stars and the gas are found to have different kinematics. Analysis of the stellar kinematics confirms that the dynamical center of the Galaxy is coincident with IRS 16 within + or - 10 deg. The observations and the theory of stellar hydrodynamics are used to obtain an estimate of the mass distribution between a Galactocentric radius of 0.5 and 5 pc.
