Abstract
Results are presented from spectroscopic observations of K giants in two fields towards the Galactic bulge. The mean Galacto-centric velocity and velocity dispersion for a field at l, b = (8, 7) are V = 45 +/- 10 km/s and sigma = 85 +/- 7 km/s. For a field at l, b = (12, 3), V = 77 +/- 9 km/s and sigma = 68 +/- 6 km/s. The bulge of the Galaxy is found to be rotating, and its velocity dispersion decreases with increasing Galacto-centric distance.
