Abstract
Results of elastic and inelastic deuteron scattering from $^{47,48,49,50}\mathrm{Ti}$ are presented. Deuteron energies from 2.5 to 10 MeV were used, and ($d, {d}^{\ensuremath{'}}$) angular distributions were obtained at several energies in the $^{47,50}\mathrm{Ti}$ cases. The elastic-scattering data are analyzed by means of the optical model, whereas the ($d, {d}^{\ensuremath{'}}$) data are analyzed in a simple direct-reaction picture employing collective-model-type form factors. The ($d, {d}^{\ensuremath{'}}$) data are in reasonable agreement with the direct-reaction predictions only at deuteron energies of 8 and 10 MeV. A reanalysis of the earlier $\mathrm{Ti}(d, p)$ results is presented. A deuteron potential in better agreement with the elastic-scattering data is used, resulting in an improved agreement with the ($d, p$) strength sum rules.
