Abstract
Several $(p, pn)+(p, 2n)$ and ($p, 2p$) cross sections of nuclei of mass 19 to 69 were measured with 21.5-Mev incident protons. For all elements with mass less than 55 and for ${\mathrm{Ni}}^{58}$, the $(p, pn)+(p, 2n)$ cross section is very much less than the total reaction cross section. Detailed analysis of the data indicates that this is largely due to competition from ($p, 2p$) reactions. The conclusion from the previous paper that the ratio of probabilities for proton and neutron emission is much larger than expected seems to be confirmed and extended to lighter nuclei.
