Abstract
Spins in magnetic materials give rise to a wide variety of unusual physical phenomena due to their interactions with electronic charge, heat, light, and one another (as in magnons, collective spin excitations). This paper reviews related recent developments that are poised to impact future applications for energy-efficient information technologies.
