Intermediate structures and their dominantlvalues inO16(C12,Be8)Ne20reactions,Ec.m.=11.5 to 18.6MeV

Abstract
Measurements of $\ensuremath{\sigma}(\ensuremath{\theta}, E)$ are reported for $^{16}\mathrm{O}$($^{12}\mathrm{C}$,$^{8}\mathrm{Be}$)$^{20}\mathrm{Ne}$* reactions to the low lying ${0}^{+}$, ${2}^{+}$, ${4}^{+}$ and unresolved ${3}^{\ensuremath{-}}$, ${1}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ final states. The energy range is ${E}_{\mathrm{c}.\mathrm{m}.}\ensuremath{\simeq}11.5 \mathrm{to} 18.6$ MeV with measurements at \ensuremath{\sim} 86 keV intervals. Up to 38 angles between ${\ensuremath{\theta}}_{\mathrm{c}.\mathrm{m}.}=12\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{} \mathrm{and} 167\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}$ are measured for each energy. A large number of resonances are identified by their appearance over a broad range of forward and backward angles and by their energy correlation over exit channels. Many ${J}^{\ensuremath{\pi}}$ assignments are inferred from the behavior of back angle $\ensuremath{\sigma}(\ensuremath{\theta})$ across the resonance. All $J$ values are from one to three units less than the optical model grazing angular momentum for the $^{16}\mathrm{O}$+$^{12}\mathrm{C}$ channel.NUCLEAR REACTIONS $^{16}\mathrm{O}$($^{12}\mathrm{C}$, $^{8}\mathrm{Be}$)$^{20}\mathrm{Ne}$*; measured $\ensuremath{\sigma}(\ensuremath{\theta}, E)$ to low-lying states for ${E}_{\mathrm{c}.\mathrm{m}.}\ensuremath{\simeq}11.6\ensuremath{-}18.6$ MeV and ${\ensuremath{\theta}}_{\mathrm{c}.\mathrm{m}.}\ensuremath{\simeq}12\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}\ensuremath{-}167\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}$. Deduced resonant energies and ${J}^{\ensuremath{\pi}}$ values.
