Abstract
A 134-kg aluminum gravitational-radiation antenna instrumented with a resonant capacitive sensor and mounted on a new multistage suspension system has been tested. Well-behaved thermal noise and fluctuations have been observed. The system fluctuation temperature was 0.51 K, in close agreement with the predicted value.
