Determination ofB(χcJ→pp¯)inψ(2S)decays
Abstract
The processes $\ensuremath{\psi}(2S)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\gamma}{\ensuremath{\chi}}_{\mathrm{cJ}},$ ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{\mathrm{cJ}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p\overline{p}$ $(J=0,1,2)$ are studied using a sample of $14\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ $\ensuremath{\psi}(2S)$ decays collected with the Beijing Spectrometer at the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider. Very clear ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c0},$ ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c1}$ and ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c2}$ signals are observed, and the branching fractions $\mathcal{B}({\ensuremath{\chi}}_{\mathrm{cJ}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p\overline{p})$ $(J=0,1,2)$ are determined to be ${(27.1}_{\ensuremath{-}3.9}^{+4.3}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}4.7)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}5},$ ${(5.7}_{\ensuremath{-}1.5}^{+1.7}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.9)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}5},$ and ${(6.5}_{\ensuremath{-}2.1}^{+2.4}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.0)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}5},$ respectively, where the first errors are statistical and the second are systematic.
