Abstract
With use of the LENA detector at the DORIS ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ storage ring, the hadronic cross section and the $\ensuremath{\mu}$-pair decay branching ratio of the $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(9.46)$ resonance have been measured. ${\ensuremath{\Gamma}}_{\mathrm{ee}}=1.23\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.10 (\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.14)$ keV, ${B}_{\ensuremath{\mu}\ensuremath{\mu}}=[3.5\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.4 (\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.4)]$%, and ${\ensuremath{\Gamma}}_{\mathrm{tot}}={35}_{\ensuremath{-}10}^{+25} ({+9}{\ensuremath{-}7})$ keV have been obtained. The first set of errors gives the statistical uncertainty. The numbers in parentheses represent systematic errors arising from the uncertainty in the total hadronic cross section.
