Abstract
An approximate closed form expression for radiation patterns of the Variable Inclination Continuous Transverse Stub (VICTS) antenna is derived. The main beam can be interpreted as being outside real space and having a position independent of frequency and slot rotation angle. The real space beam can be interpreted as a grating lobe that is positioned by an adjustment of the element locations and their relative phase.
