Abstract
In this paper, the scheme that combines LDM(Layered Division Multiplexing) scheme with the FDM(Frequency Division Multiplexing) scheme based BST-OFDM(Band Segmented OFDM) that is being studied as the preliminary specification toward the next generation digital terrestrial television transmission in Japan is proposed in order to increase the frequency utilization in stationary reception of UHDTV(Ultra High Definition Television). The basic performance of the proposed scheme was evaluated by computer simulations under Gaussian channel and the improvement of the required CN ratio in UHDTV stationary reception was confirmed.
