Multicast video-on-demand system with VCR functionality
2002pp. 569–573
Abstract
Multicast delivery is one of the solutions to reduce the cost in a large video-on-demand (VoD) system. However, multicast transmission makes more difficult in implementation of interactive functions for individual user. A new transmission scheme for providing full VCR functionality in a multicast VoD system is developed. Simulations show that the system resources such as the receiver buffer are greatly reduced when using our proposed method.
