Abstract
This paper presents a 3-D analytical magnetic field analysis of an air-cored axial-flux Halbach permanent-magnet machine (AFPMM with Halbach). The 3-D analytical magnetic distribution is established using the magnetic scalar potential and modified BESSEL functions in the cylindrical coordinate system. The analytical magnetic field distributions and the electromagnetic force are derived and verified by the computation results using the finite-element method.
