DAY-TO-DAY VARIATION IN THE 24-HOUR URINARY EXCRETION OF TOTAL OESTROGENS, LUTEINIZING HORMONE AND FOLLICLE STIMULATING HORMONE IN NORMAL MALES
European Journal of Endocrinology1971Vol. 68(1_Supplb), pp. S67–S67
Abstract
Hormone assays, particularly the assays of luteinizing hormone and follicle stimulating hormone, are frequently carried out in males in the investigation of various disease states. They may be useful, for example, in the investigation of male infertility, various testicular tumours and lesions of the pituitary. Often these analyses are carried out on a single 24-hour urinary specimen. In this regard it is essential to consider the significance of any day-to-day variation in hormone excretion that may occur.
