GROUP DETERMINATIONS OF URINARY ADRENAL STEROIDS BY GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY
European Journal of Endocrinology1971Vol. 68(1_Supplb), pp. S96–S96
Abstract
Routine clinical methods for the determination of urinary metabolites of adrenal steroids, which depend on the development of a colour have tended to be unspecific. The determination of different classes (i.e. 17-hydroxysteroids, 1I-oxysteroids, 11-deoxysteroids, etc.) has usually meant the use of differential extraction procedures or chromatographic separations. We wish to describe a gas chromatographic method which separates the main classes and is useful in the evaluation of adrenocortical function.
