Technical Report: R&D on silicon detectors for future collider experiments
2018
Abstract
One of the goals of our R&D work was to develop radiation-hard and fast (picosecond timing) sensors utilizing Low Gain Avalanche Detectors (LGAD) for future colliders. The TTU group performed numerical simulation studies to characterize the LGAD signals and built two setups to test irradiated LGADs and silicon sensors for the CMS HGCal.
