Abstract
This document describes the technical basis and safety analysis for introduction of the Mark-V and Mark-VA fuel subassemblies into the core of EBR-II. An interim burnup limit of 10 at. % is specified for the Mark-V and Mark-VA fuel pins in driver subassemblies. As more information on fuel pin lifetime and hexcan behavior is gathered a final burnup limit will be sought.
