Effectiveness of the senior digital literacy package on health information utilization among older adults
Abstract
This study developed and evaluated the Senior Digital Literacy Package (SDLP), a smartphone-based educational intervention aimed to enhance digital literacy and e-health literacy among older adults. A nonequivalent control group pre-post design was employed, involving 139 older adults recruited from welfare centers in D city. Participants in the experimental group (n=70) attended in a single 100-minute SDLP session consisted of lectures and guided hands-on practice, whereas those in the the control group (n=69) received a rief educational leaflect. Following the intervention, the experimental group demonstrated significantly greater improvements in digital accessibility, understanding, utilization, and e-health literacy than the control group. These findings suggest that the SDLP is a feasible and effective approach to reducing the digital health divide among loder adults.
