Front Cover: Visualizing the Adenylation Activities and Protein–Protein Interactions of Aryl Acid Adenylating Enzymes (ChemBioChem 22/2017)

Abstract
The cover picture shows protein–protein interactions between aryl acid carrier proteins (green) and aryl acid adenylation (A) domains (blue) that were visualized and assessed by using a new gel-based strategy coupled with activity-based probes. The substrate specificities of these A-domains are also shown. This strategy should be immediately useful for assessing the nature of transient and specific CP–partner interactions and manipulating protein–protein interactions between non-native pairs. More information can be found in the communication by F. Ishikawa et al. on page 2199 in Issue 22, 2017 (DOI: 10.1002/cbic.201700361).
