Abstract
Abstract The resonant loop antenna is examined in terms of its near‐field behaviour. It is shown that the near‐field wave‐impedance varies considerably across the loop diameter. This has a significant effect on the matching to the human body and specific absorption rate. An uneven SAR distribution is observed in a body model. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
