Abstract

Distannylated bis(cyclopentadienyl) and bis(indenyl) ligands react with ZrCl4 and HfCl4 to give the corresponding ansa-metallocenes in high yield. It was shown that the racemic forms of ansa-metallocenes could be prepared from the racemic forms of starting dielement-substituted bis(cyclopentadienyl) ligands.
