Abstract
This review discusses the origin of the regeneration blastema, and particularly the importance of the skin, the skeleton, and other tissues in the process of regeneration. Also considered are reactions of regenerates to irradiation, including the effect of partial irradiation and the regression of regenerates. Especial attention is given to regeneration under abnormal conditions and to abnormal regeneration. The final section is concerned with the problem of stimulation of regeneration and the possibilities of regeneration in mammals.
