Linear array of 2×2 dual-polarized x-band microstrip patch sub arrays for off-the-grid radar array antenna
2012Vol. 51, pp. 1–2
Abstract
The design of 1×15 linear array made up of 2×2 dual-polarized microstrip sub arrays elements is presented. The linear array forms the basis of a planar array to be used for the CASA Off-the-Grid radar system. Sub array amplitude tapering is used to reduce side lobe levels. Simulation results for a 15-element linear array with Taylor amplitude distribution demonstrate a gain of 20dBi, 3 dB beamwidth of 10 degrees with cross-polarization levels of 60 dB at broadside.
