Evaluation of iron in the steam plant wastewater treatment facility effluent
1994
Abstract
Elevated Fe concentrations in the Y-12 SPWTF effluent primarily result from carryover of solids from the clarifier to the F-2 tank, the F-2 tank to the effluent line, and possibly from solids that collect the effluent line. An upgrade involving filtration equipment will improve the reliability of control over Fe removal. Recommendations are given for improving operating efficiency.
